Top of Tom’s Viral Charts Dec 2010 – May 2011

After a long break from the blog, I thought I would really kick off with something to whet your viral appetites! Included are some presidents, some cats and a battle between two babies!

Here are my favourite virals of the past 8 months, enjoy!

A stunning use of complimentary mediums, this piece navigates several of the world’s greatest cities and locations. Director Alex Profit uses photographs which are stitched together to create the illusion of motion. The piece took only 24 days to create.

3. Jennifer Aniston Goes Viral

The marketing team at Smart Water thought to themselves, what would happen if you took one of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities and combine it with the best of the 2010 viral charts? 9,000,000 views since 7 March might be the answer they were looking for.

2. Steve Jobs introduces the iPad 2

Was this the last time we witness Steve Jobs introduce an Apple product? This viral has been dissected and inserted into thousands of videos within moments of his speech finishing. Although we cannot quantify how many views this viral has had, Steve’s impact on technology is too great for our list to ignore.

1. Mommy’s Nose is Scary!

Within weeks of ‘Baby Laughing Hysterically at Ripping Paper’ (please see below) going viral, a new baby was on the block. Little did the mother know that her son’s reaction to her blowing her nose would be such a huge success – “My five-and-a-half-month old son Emerson isn’t sure what to think when I blow my nose. Sometimes he’s terrified, then he can’t stop laughing.” Although the ‘Baby Ripping Paper’ has generated 600,000 more views, Emerson has had less time and gets my vote… but let me know if you agree by voting on the poll below the following videos.
